Dear Friends,
Ishwar’s dera in Wisconsin now has a wonderful pole barn to store ISHA’s vehicles and equipment.
The barn is located near the dera workshop and garage. Work began in the summer with clearing of the building site.
All of the components of the barn arrived to the site on a flatbed trailer.
Workers carefully measured out the corners for the 30 ft by 40 ft building.
Eighteen holes were drilled several feet deep.
And then the foundation posts were dropped into the holes and set in place.
Using a scissors jack, the carpenters installed the wooden girts around the sides of the building, and then hoisted up the engineered trusses for the roof.
Next they attached the purlins (the boards on top of the trusses that will hold the roof panels).
Then they wrapped the building with rolls of protective layering. They then installed the steel panels to the walls and the roof.
The fabric wrap resists air infiltration and water, but allows moisture vapor to diffuse through, helping prevent mold and mildew. They also installed clear panels under the eaves, which allows natural light into the barn.
The dirt floor is leveled and compacted prior to pouring the concrete floor.
The floor was poured in two long sections, using fiber-reinforced concrete. The workers skillfully used an electric roller screed machine to quickly spread and level the concrete.
The floor will provide a durable and safe surface for volunteers working with the equipment. The two large garage doors will facilitate movement of the vehicles.
The finished pole barn!
A fantastic space for ISHA’s trucks, snow plow, bobcat, tractor, mowers and other essential equipment that will be needed for building Ishwar’s tribute to Great Master.
