#154 – December 29, 2023 — Ishwar’s Holiday Message!

Dear Friends,
Here is a holiday message from Ishwar from a few years ago.

Hello Friends,
I send you all my love and Great Master’s Blessings for this holiday season.

I am building the dera in Wisconsin as a humble tribute to my own Master, Great Master Hazur Maharaj Baba Sawan Singh Ji. The dera is an opportunity for doing seva. Some people suggested to me that a few millionaires could just build the dera for you. I said, “But that’s not the idea.” The idea is that each one of us should get some participation in it, like we did in the dera in India. I want every satsangi, even the poorest of the poor, to be given the opportunity to offer something in seva, even if it is only a dollar. I would also like all satsangis, rich and poor, young and old, to participate in the construction, even if they can only carry one brick. Your smallest efforts are precious to me and to Great Master. This is seva of love and devotion.

This project is a project of love, and I thank all of you for your loving Seva, which I greatly appreciate.

With my love and Great Master’s Blessings,
Ishwar Puri

ISHA invites all of Ishwar’s friends to take the opportunity of seva at the Wisconsin dera this spring and summer. There are two ways you can participate in volunteer work at the dera:
1) Attend one (or more) of these five long-weekend seva events.
May 24-27, 2024. Memorial Day weekend. Garden planting, general dera work.
June 14-17, 2024. General dera work.
July 12-15, 2024. Garden weeding, harvesting, and preserving. General dera work.
August 16-19, 2024. Garden harvest, general dera work.
September 20-23, 2024. Mitti seva – Garden harvest, put garden to bed, general dera work, special ceremony to bless the Meeting Hall.
2) Pick your own dates and attend “Open Seva” when it is convenient for you. Visitors are always welcome at Ishwar’s dera between about May 1 and November 1.

In either case, please let us know when you will be visiting by emailing dera.seva@ishanews.org. Volunteers are responsible for their own lodging and transportation. CLICK HERE for a list of local hotels, motels, campgrounds etc.
