Dear Friends,
The ISHA Dera property in Bruce, Wisconsin continues to evolve according to Ishwar’s master plan. The current plan consists of two general components: the large Meeting Hall on the Hill, and all of the infrastructure in the southern parcel (including Ishwar’s House, the Prashad Garden, Workshop, Dining Hall, Greenhouse, Library, Pole Barn, landscaping, roads, utilities, fences, orchard, etc.). This year, sevadars have advanced both components with extraordinary love and devotion.
Two of the most recent projects were to paint the steel framework of the Meeting Hall (photos below) and to build a large patio between Ishwar’s House and the Dining Hall (the subject of the blog next week).
Mitti seva 2026 at the dera is September 18 to 21. On Saturday, September 19, we will be taking a tour of Ishwar’s newly painted Meeting Hall building with the full group of sevadars! We hope you can join in the fun! For more information, or to register for the event, please click here: https://ishanews.org/sep-2026-mitti-seva-registration/.
Great news! Both of ISHA’s live Dera Cameras are back online! To view activity in Ishwar’s Prashad Garden, click here: https://garden.ishanews.org/ishwars-prashad-garden-camera/. To view Ishwar’s Meeting Hall worksite, click here: https://garden.ishanews.org/live-hill-camera-1/.
Back in May, the final loads of steel were delivered to the Meeting Hall site on the Hill.

The steel components were factory-painted with a standard “red oxide metal primer.” This paint is designed to prevent rust formation on the steel, and to enhance adhesion of the later finish paint.

The entire steel skeleton was assembled during several weeks in May.

Visitors to the dera are always eager to tour the building. There is currently lots of seva available in and around the building, so seekers are always welcome!

In mid-August, all of the metal beams, joists, and columns were painted by an enthusiastic team of expert painters.

Now that the building is painted, the next major stages of construction are to install the exterior walls and the final roof. If all goes well, this work will begin in the spring of 2027.

When completed, the auditorium and dining hall will accommodate 400 seekers.

All are invited to visit the dera any time between now and November 1, 2026.
Please let us know when you will be visiting by emailing ISHA President Bill Grout at bill.grout@ishanews.org
