Dear Friends,
During the 4-day Mitti Seva event in September, approximately 70 of Ishwar’s friends traveled to the ISHA dera property in Bruce, Wisconsin to answer Ishwar’s call to help him build his tribute to Great Master Baba Sawan Singh. Much seva was had by all!
Ishwar provided fantastic weather for the event. Here the group poses for a photo in front of the dera garage/workshop/greenhouse.
A number of families chose to drive their vans and campers to the dera.
Many of the volunteers worked in the garden, harvesting the last of the prashad veggies and creating a huge pile for composting.
Before being put to rest for the winter season, the garden was carefully rototilled.
Sevadars also built some new wooden, raised garden beds that were later filled with rich, organic, composted soil.
Fresh chai … London style!
There’s always time to enjoy a cup of fresh chai with old friends!
The dera dumper delivered loads of sumptuous composted manure for the gardens.
While preparing an amazing menu of delicious daily pakoras and luscious lunches, the cooks worked in the partially built pole barn.
Volunteers enjoying lunch in the new dining hall.
ISHA Chairman, Jagannath Kerai, offered a live-streamed satsang from the garage/workshop.
Carpenters built a roof overhang over two of the doors in the workshop.
The roof overhangs will keep snow and rain off the entrances to the workshop.
Another team of carpenters built some new shelves in the workshop.
ISHA contractors worked on the new pole barn before and after the Mitti Seva event. The barn should be completed later this month, and will contain ISHA’s vehicles and equipment.
One evening was spent socializing around the fire pit.
Mitti Seva, 2019.
ISHA hopes to soon announce the seva opportunities for the spring and summer of 2024. Stay tuned for more information.
