Dear Friends,<\/span><\/div>\n

Ishwar’s 2020 dera garden was a grand (and delicious) success!<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Here\u2019s a lofty view of the garden in July, with all of the vegetables flourishing. But the local horticultural volunteers put in a lot of work before this photo was taken.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Months before, the group came up with a long list of worthy plants:<\/span><\/div>\n
     Beans (7 varieties of bush and pole beans)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Beets (2 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Bok Choy<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Broccoli (2 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Brussel Sprouts<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Cabbage<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Cantaloupe<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Carrots (3 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Celery<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Corn (3 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Cucumbers (3 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Endive<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Kale (2 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Kohlrabi (White Beas variety)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Lettuce (2 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Mustard <\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Onions (4 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Peas (2 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Peppers (3 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Potatoes (4 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Radish (2 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Rutabaga <\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Squash (6 varieties of summer and winter squash)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Swiss Chard<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Tomato (7 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Watermelon (2 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Herbs (basil, cilantro, dill, and parsley)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
     Sunflowers (3 varieties)<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
And then in early spring, with an abundance of tender loving care, the seeds sprouted and became seedlings in ISHA\u2019s new greenhouse.<\/span><\/div>\n

 <\/div>\n
By May, the seedlings were bursting out of their containers …<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u2026 and so, it was time to plant.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Some herbs and flowers were given a deluxe location along the greenhouse wall.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
And some lucky cucumbers and tomatoes were encouraged to grow up string trellises inside the greenhouse.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
A heavenly garden on earth!<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
