It\u2019s called &#8220;Beas Kohlrabi,\u201d and was&nbsp;discovered in the Johnny\u2019s Selected Seeds catalog by one of the volunteer gardeners.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span class=\"\">Kohlrabi is a low-growing, stout cultivar of the wild cabbage family, and is closely related to cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, and collard greens.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Beas Kohlrabi is named for the Beas River in northern India, where the vegetable was developed. The river runs by Dera Baba Jaimal Singh, the long-time home to Ishwar\u2019s best friend, Great Master&nbsp;Hazur Maharaj Baba Sawan Singh Ji, and home to Ishwar himself for many years.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span class=\"\">Kohlrabi is typically green or purple, but the Beas Kohlrabi is the first pure-white variety&nbsp;\u2026 and is strikingly similar in color to the beard of the Great Master, Hazur Maharaj Baba Sawan Singh Ji<\/span><span class=\"\">!<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span class=\"\">This lovely vegetable is said to&nbsp;have a sweet, mild flavor and a pure, white internal color.
