Then, they\u2019re headed to the garden.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"2617FA29-4C4D-4797-B5BE-ADED0BAFD6C8\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/ishanews.org\/ishwarsprojects2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/1-Dera-2019-planting-potatoes.jpg\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Each spud was lovingly placed on a row of that fine local compost. The sevadars planted about 150 potato plants!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"E02DB701-F256-4206-9DEE-5A299284C9F5\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/ishanews.org\/ishwarsprojects2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2-Dera-2019-planting-potatoes-3.jpg\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Rather than burying the potato seeds, the expert gardeners rolled a thick mulch of grass hay over the rows. The potatoes plants will grow up through the straw, and the potatoes can be harvested in the summer simply by removing the mulch.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"8C21E3E5-5F83-4489-81A4-728FD2003C8A\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/ishanews.org\/ishwarsprojects2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/3-Dera-2019-planting-potatoes-2.jpg\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Don\u2019t forget about tomatoes \u2026 lots of tomatoes! This year, the gardeners chose 9 varieties:<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"\">\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Atomic Grape &#8211; Wildly colored cherry tomato with lavender and purple stripes that turn to olive-green, red, and brown\/blue stripes when ripe.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Belgium&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;Huge, sweet fruits average 1 to 2 pounds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Lime Green Salad &#8211; Compact plants yield lots of small, apple-green to yellow-green fruits with a tangy flavor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Lucky Tiger Grape &#8211; Sweet and tangy, elongated 2\u201d fruit is jewel-toned shades of green and red, with hints of gold.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Nebraska Wedding &#8211; The \u201cultimate love apple\u201d is a stunning, round, orange, 4\u201d tomato with a well-balanced flavor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Pruden&#8217;s Purple &#8211; An early Brandywine type, with large, smooth, dark-pink fruit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Sunsugar Yellow &#8211;&nbsp;The ultimate cherry tomato, a golden-yellow beauty with incredible sugary-sweetness and flavor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Valencia &#8211;&nbsp;Round, smooth, medium-sized, sunny-orange fruits are among the best for flavor and&nbsp;texture.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Wisconsin 55 &#8211; This local classic produces slicers that are great for fresh eating and popular for canning and stewing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;
