Dear Friends,<\/span><\/p>\n

As the building season in Wisconsin ended, volunteer workers had one last task to complete on Ishwar\u2019s construction project. Now that the roof was on, the four sides of the Maintenance Shed had to be sealed for the winter. There wasn\u2019t enough time to install the permanent metal siding to all four of the walls, so the decision was made to prioritize the west side because most of the winter storms come from the west.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The Shed siding is a charcoal gray color and is installed with the long panels vertical. Here the first panel is set onto the west wall.<\/span><\/div>\n

 <\/div>\n
Because of the sloping roof along the west wall, the top of each wall panel had to be hand cut to match the angle of the roof.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The next panel is up, and the crew is moving the next panel to be cut to size.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The siding is attached to the wood frame with the same type of special screws as the roof. But the siding screws must be placed precisely over the strips of wooden 2’x4\u201d lumber. Here, the sevadar is marking the location for each screw.<\/span><\/div>\n

And then the screws are driven through the metal and into the wood strips.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Workers are making good progress on the west wall. They had to carefully cut out the window area in several of the metal panels.<\/span><\/div>\n

The metal on the west wall is complete. Next year, we hope to apply insulation to the inside of the walls, so environmental conditions in the Shed will be suitable for working year round.<\/span><\/div>\n

The roof and west wall are now watertight.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
In the next blog, as time runs out, the team of sevadars comes up with a plan for sealing the other three sides for the winter.<\/span><\/div>\n
