Definition of a weed: A plant that is not valued where it is growing and is usually of vigorous growth; especially one that tends to overgrow or choke out more desirable plants, such as in a garden.<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The ISHA garden in Bruce, Wisconsin happens to be an outstanding habitat for weeds! So the local volunteers decided to host a “Weeding Party,” and on a lovely summer morning, eight enthusiastic satsangis (plus uncountable numbers of equally enthusiastic, party-crashing mosquitos) gathered at the garden site.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The garden is totally surrounded by weedy vegetation, and so it\u2019s no surprise that weed-pulling sevadars will be in great demand this summer.<\/span><\/div>\n

Thanks to the good work of the rototiller operators, the areas between the garden rows were quickly cleared of non-edible growth.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
And the vegetable rows were cleared by hand.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
As lunchtime was approaching, and just as the weeding was completed, dark clouds came rolling in, and the garden was blessed with some much-needed rain!<\/span><\/div>\n

The weeder pullers retreated to a dry (and mosquito-free) location for lunch, which featured veggies fresh from the garden!  More on the lunch menu in the next blog.<\/span><\/div>\n
