ISHA BIENNIAL INTENSIVE MEDITATION RETREATS – GENERAL INFORMATION

Registration for attendance for all four IMRs is full, but Registration for the Wait List for any one of the four IMRs is available.

You may only register for one Wait List, not all four. So, decide which Wait List you want to be on. The links to register for a Wait List (using Eventbrite) are below. (The links to each Retreat Info page are a little further down the page.)

NEW MEXICO: https://isha-imr-new-mexico.eventbrite.com
FLORIDA: https://isha-imr-florida.eventbrite.com
COLORADO: http://isha-imr-colorado.eventbrite.com
CALIFORNIA: https://isha-imr-california.eventbrite.com

To register for the WAIT LIST:

1) click the green REGISTER button

2) click on the blue words that say, “JOIN WAITLIST”

3) enter your email address, first and last name, and your phone number
(just in case; we won’t use it for any other purpose than the IMR)

 4) click on the blue box that says, “ADD TO WAITLIST”

That’s it. You’re done.

YOU MAY ONLY REGISTER FOR ONE IMR WAIT LIST

Being on the Wait List means that if a spot opens up and all people ahead of you on the Wait List are offered the spot and either accept it or asked to be removed from the Wait List, then you will be offered that spot. If you are on the Wait List, there is no guarantee you will be contacted to attend.

[New information has been marked – [*added Jan. 26]

This page provides general information and answers to frequently asked questions about the Intensive Meditation Retreats (IMRs). Specific details about each IMR are provided through the links below.

So what is an IMR? An IMR – or Intensive Meditation Retreat – is a multi-day function in a secluded setting, with a limited attendance, that is intended to maximize attendants’ interaction with Ishwar. The retreat size is restricted to a total of 70 to 80 people, depending on the venue.

Where will the IMRs be held? There will be four IMRs held in New Mexico, Florida, Colorado and California during 2016-2017.

Where can I find more details about each one? Follow the links below:

NEW MEXICO – Aug/Sept 2016

FLORIDA – Nov 2016

COLORADO – May 2017

CALIFORNIA – Oct 2017

Why aren’t you saying where each Retreat will be held? [*added Jan. 26] The venue address will be given to those who register. This limits people contacting the venues which could cause problems. In fact, only the Retreat Coordinators should contact the venues.

Can I attend more than one IMR? YOU MAY ONLY REGISTER FOR ONE IMR from the 2016-2017 Retreat Schedule. If you sign up for more than one IMR, your name will be removed from the other retreat registration lists. Whichever IMR you register for first (based on your registration time-stamp) is the one you will be eligible to attend.

Why only one?!? Ishwar has determined that the best way to allow more people the opportunity to attend this type of limited-size event is to keep attendance to only one retreat over the course of two years.

Can I give or trade my place to someone? [*added Jan. 26] You may not transfer your registration. Ishwar has stated he wishes this to be strictly on a first-come, first-served basis in order to be fair to everyone. That means, if you are registered and decide to withdraw, the person who is next on the Waiting List will be given the opportunity to attend. Simply put: there are no “substitutions.”

What if I do not get moved from the Wait List to the Retreat Registration?  If you are on the Wait List, there is no guarantee you will get to attend during this series of IMRs.

When does registration start? Retreat registration starts at 15:00 GMT on Saturday, February 6, 2016 (7am Pacific or 10am Eastern Standard time) and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Everyone will have an equal opportunity to register for their chosen retreat.

Can I please reserve a spot before registration starts? [*added Jan. 26] Ishwar has made it clear that everyone should have an equal chance to register, so a space cannot be held for anyone. Do your best to register as soon as the registration opens. Attendance, as well as preferred lodging, will be addressed in order of registration.

Will everyone get to attend? We hope so, but since attendance is limited it depends on the number of people who register for each IMR. Some people may end up on the Wait List for the IMR they register for. IMRs have a limited attendance so people can have close interaction with Ishwar. Small retreat venues are selected for this reason. See individual retreat pages for details on registration limits.

Should I wait to see which retreat has space? Because registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, you should decide in advance which retreat you want to attend and register as soon as registration opens on February 6.

How do I register? We are using a website called Eventbrite. The website allows 15 minutes to complete the registration form, but it should take you less than five minutes. Your place will be held as soon as you click the “Register” button.

What details are needed to register for an IMR? [*added Jan. 26] The only information you need at the time of registration are the first and last names and email addresses of yourself and any other person you are registering (up to 4 people, including yourself) under your name.

Can I register my whole family or a group? You will be able to register up to four people at one time if attendance limits allow. If you have more than four people in your group, someone else will need to register others under their name.

Can children attend IMRs? [*added Jan. 26] Yes, children are welcome. There are no restrictions for children of any age to attend an IMR. But they must be registered for the Retreat and must be accompanied and/or attended by a parent or guardian at all times. Fees vary by age and the availability of children’s rooms and space depends on the venue.

Can I attend just part of a Retreat? [*added Jan. 26] That is up to you. But the venues do not offer prorated fees for partial attendance. You will have to pay the full price. Also, the Intensive Meditation Retreats are different from regular ISHA events in that they are designed with the idea that people will be able to attend all the days.

How much will it cost? A $50.00 registration deposit will be due within two weeks after you receive notification that you are registered to attend a retreat. This will be applied to the cost of the IMR. Each IMR has different costs based on the venue fees. See the individual retreat pages for further details. If you do not pay the deposit or make arrangements to pay within two weeks, you will lose your place in the Registration line.

Can I cancel after I register? Yes, you can cancel after you register. If unavoidable circumstances cause a schedule change (job, family or health, for example), we encourage you to contact your retreat coordinator(s) as soon as possible to cancel your registration so that other folks on the Wait List can attend.

Can I get a refund? You may be able to do so. Each retreat venue has different rules regarding cancellations and refunds. We will make every effort to facilitate a refund, but in the case of late cancellations a refund may depend on the timing of your cancellation and whether someone from the Wait List can replace you.

Can I record while at an IMR? There is no recording of Ishwar’s lectures or discussions at the retreat.

Will I get a personal meeting with Ishwar? It is intended that every person has an opportunity for a personal meeting with Ishwar.
